Children’s Literature Workshop – Open Call

Children’s Literature Workshop – Open Call
Why do we write for children, what kind of stories do we tell, how do we tell them?
The Goethe Center Yerevan invites to a writing workshop for both experienced and aspiring children’s writers. The workshop will take place at the Goethe Center from May 4 – 7, 2023.
Impulses from East and West should come together when we talk about literature, so we will have a German-Armenian leadership team: The two German cultural mediators Barbara Lehnerer and Beate Schäfer will work together with the professor, translator and children’s book author Alvard Jivanyan and the writer, translator Armen Ohanyan, assisted by an interpreter. The workshop will concentrate on giving practical impulse to the participants: We will work on both current and future projects in terms of content and style. The focus is on fiction for young readers – target group 8 to 16 years.
For all applicants: Outline why you would like to participate, whether you already have a children’s fiction project or a first idea for one and briefly present it (about one page). Also include some information about yourself.
Submission, preferably in English, by 31․03․2023 to the following mail address: goethezentrumeriwan@gmail.com
